Three Years Together

Wednesday July 1st, 2020 marked three years since Lucas and I vowed to each other, “Till death do us part.” So many things have happened and the Lord has only strengthened our marriage in these few short years. I am so blessed to be married to my best friend and such a godly man. Lucas has surpassed anything I could have ever prayed for. No he’s not perfect but he is perfect for me. My love for him grows every single day.

We were very grateful to Papa and Baba for watching Edith and Myles overnight. The fun started with games and tea at Starbucks then progressed to dinner at one of our favourites, Greek Islands. After dinner we ate way too many goodies snuggled in bed for a movie night. It was so refreshing to just enjoy fun activities with my best friend while not needing to worry about the kids. (A much needed night alone after a year and a half!)

The next morning started with waking from having rested so fully and never setting any alarms….paradise! Then we headed up to Cultus Lake for breakfast and a round of mini golf. Yes, Lucas beat me because he’s amazing at every sport. 😉 Of course we visited the LEGO store, Luc’s favourite, and a couple other shops just enjoying being together and holding hands.

Don’t worry, by the time 24 hours had passed this momma missed the little arms and sticky fingers wrapping around her neck and the sweet kisses of chubby faces. So off we went to collect our babies who were not as thrilled to see us as we were to see them. Apparently they had way too much fun without daddy and mommy. 🙂 Here are a few photos of our sweet time together celebrating the wonderful gift of three years married that God has given to us.

May the next three years see us stronger in our walk with God, closer friends, and more in love than we are today. I’m so thankful for the lessons we’ve learned, the storms we’ve weathered, and the blessings we have enjoyed my biggest being married to you Babe. 😘

I also reached the 20 week marker in my pregnancy on our anniversary!
The sweet little place where we enjoyed breakfast.
Look at this stud! 😍
Happy 3 years my love! 😘

God is humble!

What a wonderful Saviour we have who chose to walk in complete humility amongst men. I am so incredibly thankful that my Lord is humble. That He humbled himself to the point of becoming a man and living amongst us. Not only did He show us how we ought to live, but He also to lived a perfect life that He might be the Spotless Lamb of God. Our Atonement sacrifice in our stead.

“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” Philippians 2:5-8

God is Creator!

I am so thankful for how God has so incredibly created all things. One of the things I am grateful for is His creation of the new life growing in my womb. It never ceases to amaze me how He creates each new life and that I have been gifted the blessing of being apart of creating three souls.

Creation is a humbling thing indeed when we consider these magnitude of our Creator!

“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” Psalm 8:3&4

17

God is merciful!

I am so thankful for the mercy of God that I do not deserve! His mercy in dying in my place to pay a debt I could not afford. His mercy in forgiving me the debt and adopting me as His daughter! How could I ever lack thankfulness to the Merciful One?

“The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” Psalm 103:8

16

God is gracious!

I’m so thankful for God’s Grace in my life! Though I fail every day His grace is extended over and over.

“But he said to me, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities, for when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9&10

Day 15

God is wise!

I am thankful for God’s wisdom! It is unsearchable and beyond my comprehension. He knows what is best and what is right. He knows all things with a wisdom that we could never hope to have.

“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” James 3:17

Day 14

God is truth!

I am so thankful that God is truth! We can trust His Word because He is truth. He doesn’t just speak truth but he is the existence of truth. He is the standard of truth!

“ …I the LORD speak the truth; I declare what is right.” Isaiah 45:19b

Day 13

God is kind!

I am so thankful for God’s kindness. I am thankful that even when He allows things that are difficult, it is because He knows what is best for me. He is kind to allow anything that will grow me. Yes, sometimes those things hurt. In His kindness He will never hesitate to put me in situations that will purge me of my sinfulness and make me more like Him.

Day 12

God is great!

We can be thankful that we serve our great God!

“Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised in the city of our God! His holy mountain, beautiful in elevation, is the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great King. Within her citadels God has made himself known as a fortress.Psalm 48:1-3

Day 11

God is attentive!

God always hears our prayers! He is watching and waiting for us to go to Him with our needs, desires, fears, hopes, and dreams. Why do we hesitate? I know that I do far too often. But He’s there waiting and ready to listen to the cries of our heart.

“The LORD is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His works. The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him; He also hears their cry and saves them.” Psalm 145:17-19
